Marketing strategy, communications, and brand building are Serena's passions. Together with her experience as a journalist and marketing communications professional and as recent MBA graduate, she's devoted time both inside and outside the classroom, gaining expertise in successful communications, marketing strategy, brand building, and marketing research.

Experience
Serena began her career as an editor and journalist for such renowned publications as McClatchy newspapers in Central California and the internationally circulated Islands magazines. Later she was invited to take an assignment with the California State University system managing media relations, and writing magazine articles and print and Web marketing materials for one of its campuses. It was here she discovered her passion for marketing strategy. It led her to a highly respected MBA program, where she earned recognition for her leadership and initiative. Serena now applies her passion for marketing and writing with clients in the education, travel, wine, and lifestyle industries and with her undergraduate marketing students.

Serena is a person of many interests. She has performed throughout California as a vocalist and community theatre actor, and is an accomplished photographer. Serena grew up primarily in Fresno, California. She now resides in Tucson, Arizona, where she teaches marketing and copywriting at a local private college and serves on the board of directors for the young professionals AdFed chapter.
